About This Bio Generator

Every app wants a different bio. Instagram is line breaks and emojis; GitHub is one dry sentence about your stack. By default this page shows one English bio for every supported platform — the kind of text you'd actually paste into a profile field.

Each platform follows its own bio rules: field name (Bio, About Me, Headline…), max length, multiline, emoji budget, and whether a CTA fits. The cards below mirror those conventions so sample copy stays believable per network.

Pick a persona, style, or voice if you want a narrower vibe, or leave them on Random. Refresh regenerates every platform with the same shared persona dimensions. Click a platform in the sidebar to focus on that network alone.

Platform Styles and Limits

Instagram

Most IG bios are 3–4 short lines: what you do, what you post about, maybe where you're based, then 'link below' or 'DM for collabs'. Emojis as bullet points. Almost nobody writes a full paragraph.

150 chars max Multiline works 2-4 emoji CTA is OK

X (Twitter)

X gives you one line. People put their job or hot take first, then something self-deprecating or a link. 'Views my own' still shows up. It's identity in 160 chars, not a resume.

160 chars max Single line feels right 0-2 emoji CTA is OK

TikTok

TikTok bios are tiny — niche + emoji + 'follow for ___'. Lots of '18+' or 'backup acc' energy. If it reads like a press release, it's wrong.

80 chars max Single line feels right 1-3 emoji CTA is OK

GitHub

GitHub bio is usually: role @ company, two languages or frameworks, maybe 'building ___' or 'OSS contributor'. No one puts their astrology sign here.

160 chars max Single line feels right No emoji CTA is OK

Discord

Discord About Me is casual — what games you play, what servers you're in, 'shy but friendly', anime pfp energy. It's for people who might @ you in general chat.

190 chars max Multiline works 0-3 emoji CTA is OK

LinkedIn

LinkedIn is headline + about: title, years of experience, keywords recruiters search for. Still human, but you're clearly trying to look employable.

220 chars max Single line feels right No emoji CTA is OK

Facebook

Facebook intro is the most 'normal person' bio — job, school, city, spouse and kids if you're into sharing that. Reads like someone your aunt would friend.

101 chars max Multiline works 0-1 emoji Keep CTA out

Reddit

Reddit About is short and interest-heavy: 'hiking, mechanical keyboards, complaining about ___'. Self-deprecating humor helps. Nobody lists their MBA.

200 chars max Multiline works 0-1 emoji Keep CTA out

Bluesky

Bluesky bios feel like old Twitter — one or two lines, a joke or a cause, maybe your job in lowercase. People still say 'he/him' and 'not a bot'.

256 chars max Single line feels right 0-2 emoji CTA is OK

Threads

Threads bios are like Instagram captions shrunk down — casual, a bit aesthetic, sometimes just vibes and a link. Less polished than LinkedIn, more text than TikTok.

150 chars max Multiline works 2-4 emoji CTA is OK

YouTube

Channel descriptions: what the channel is about, how often you upload, 'subscribe and hit the bell'. Creators also slip in business email or socials at the bottom.

1000 chars max Multiline works 0-2 emoji CTA is OK

Twitch

Twitch panels: what you stream, schedule if you have one, '!discord in chat', rank in whatever game. Viewers skim this before deciding to lurk or follow.

300 chars max Multiline works 0-2 emoji CTA is OK

Pinterest

Pinterest bio is niche + mood — 'slow living', 'recipe dev', 'wedding inspo'. Short, searchable words. You're telling the algorithm and humans what board vibe to expect.

160 chars max Single line feels right 0-2 emoji CTA is OK

All bios are made up. Use them for tests, demos, and drafts — not to pretend you're someone you're not.
