• Mexico is divided into 32 first-level administrative divisions: 31 states and Mexico City (Ciudad de México).
• Some large cities are also the names of their states (e.g. Puebla, Oaxaca), while others are municipalities within a state.
• Mexican addresses often include a Colonia (neighborhood), which is commonly used for local mail and deliveries.
• Postal codes consist of 5 digits and are required for accurate mail delivery.
• The country calling code is +52.
• Mobile and landline numbers are both 10 digits in national format. When written internationally, use +52 followed by the 10-digit number (e.g. +52 55 1234 5678 or +52 33 1234 5678).
• Since 2019, the former prefixes 1, 01, 044, and 045 are no longer used. Domestic and international dialing now follow the same 10-digit numbering format.
